MISSION

My mission is to foster mental growth in a diverse performer community, empowering individuals to apply mental tools both on and off stage/field/boardroom, creating lasting positive change.

Born and raised in the Bronx, Christopher Sholkoff's early years were infused with a deep love for sports. His childhood was defined by competitive pursuits in baseball and basketball, shaping his identity and dreams. Despite a promising trajectory towards college baseball, a shoulder injury intervened, redirecting Christopher's path and sparking a search for a new passion.

Navigating through various majors in college, Christopher discovered his calling in psychology. Simultaneously, he took on a coaching role at his former high school, guiding aspiring baseball players. Graduating from Mercy University with a Bachelor's in Behavioral Science, Christopher found a unique intersection between his love for sports and his newfound interest in psychology, specializing in sports psychology.

His coaching journey continued at Cardinal Spellman, where he noticed the prevalence of performance anxiety among athletes. This realization ignited Christopher's dedication to not only develop players' physical skills but also address the mental aspects of the game. A move to Manhattan saw him coaching a different demographic – younger players from affluent families, yet still grappling with performance-related challenges.

Driven to make a more profound impact, Christopher pursued a Master's degree from Capella University, specializing in mental performance and sports psychology. Two and a half years of dedicated study later, he earned his degree and founded Sholkoff Mental Performance. Since then, Christopher has worked with a diverse clientele, including Division I athletes, elite high school teams and individuals, classical musicians, and business leaders across the country. His holistic approach emphasizes the critical role of mental well-being in achieving peak performance in various fields.
